Does anyone have the LGVX4500 phone with Verizon Wireless? If you do, what do you think oof it? I know it may not be the most accessible phone out there, but I am not leaving VZW...at least not yet!

Our thanks to Andrew Godwin for sending us this manual.
We have made the Text Instructional manual for the LGBX 4500 Cell Phone
available on the Accessible Devices Site We've added Headings to facilitate
navigation. It's available from the cool links section on the For The
People Home page. When on the Accessible Devices Home page use the What's
New link or the Archives or Resource page

I agree. Verizon did a good thing by having this phone. Though it is not the most accessible, I can still do many things that I couldn't do at all with my prior Verizon phone. I like it!

Yes, the LGVX 4500 is a phone made by Verizon Wireless which is to have some features which allow blind/VI people to do some stuff on it...

I just purchased the LGVX4500 from Verizon Saturday. Actually, I was able to get the phone free due to my aggreement, so, what a deal! The phone is awesome! I am able to create contacts and manage them my self as well as utilize other features on the phone. I would highly recommend it! Feel free to QN and/or PM me about it...I'd be happy to talk about it!

Does that phone have talks/mobilespeak or some such package or does it use some other wacky method of navigation?

The phone comes with the software built in, which allows blind/VI people to independently use the phone. Check it out at www.verizonwireless.com.

I don't think its accessable spasifivly for blind people, I think it is just that way when set in driving mode, one of my friends has one....

Well, I'm looking for a new LGvx4500. Where can I find one? They don't produce them anymore. Is there a place where I can buy one without having to sign up for a plan? I already have a phone plan. I just need a phone.

They do not make the LG VX4500 anymore. It has been replaced by the LGVX4650. This phone is does the same things, but it has more service areas.

The lgvx4650 is a pretty decent phone, if you just use it for the basic features.
